BUSINESS AND WRITING: 1/23/2005 - Fundraising Dinner

Our first official fundraising event will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. at Spark (Wood Fire Cooking) Restaurant, located at 9575 W. Pico Blvd. sloanemeister has been in contact with Elizabeth Chait, a Robotics parent and owner of the restaurant, and has planned this fundraising dinner.

We are going to send out a mailer to the members of the robotics team, the PTAs, the district, school/faculty/staff, as well as members of the Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Beverly Hills. We are planning to have a short presentation (probably PowerPoint) about MORTORQ and FIRST Robotics. The cost is $35 a head (probably paid at the restaurant) - we will raise about $15 per person. Please encourage your parents to attend - we are always in need of funds for transportation costs and robot parts.

Today I contacted Elizabeth Chait and planned the fundraising dinner that has been in a pending decision for the past few months. It is a dinner at Spark restaurant located at 9575 W. Pico Boulevard. The cost is $50 a head (for students and adults) and that includes drinks, dinner off of the menu, and dessert. The time is not yet decided. The event is still being planned, but none-the-less please save the date. We will be making a profit of roughly $35 per person.
